The Centre for Sustainable Dryland Ecosystems and Societies (CSDES) in collaboration with the department of Land Resources Management and Agricultural Technology (LARMAT) held a successful 3 days curricula review workshop from 24th to 26th September 2012 at Morendat Training and Conference Centre, Naivasha.

The aim of the workshop was to review four programmes being taught within the department of LARMAT. The programs reviewed included; PhD. Dryland Resource Management, M.Sc. Land and Water, M.Sc. Range Management, B.Sc. Range Management. The workshop participants also developed a new diploma program in agriculture to be taught at Kibwezi.

Speaking during the opening session of the workshop, Prof. J.Kimenju (Dean, Faculty of Agriculture) applauded the department for the great efforts towards ensuring that the department produces quality graduates who can compete favourably in the job market. The Don promised the necessary support to the department and called on the workshop participants to work together in ensuring that the objectives of the workshop are achieved.

More than 40 participants from the department  attended the workshop.
